NIALL CONNOLLY, hailed by New York’s Death and Taxes as “being at the head of a new breed of politically engaged eloquent singer-songwriters” is coming to Galway.
The Corkonian releases his new album Brother, the Fight is Fixed on Thursday July 1 and he will launch the album with a gig upstairs in the Róisín Dubh on Friday July 2 at 9pm.
Brother, the Fight is Fixed is Connolly’s fourth album and was funded through an online campaign supported by fans worldwide. Weaving elements of electronica, Americana, alternative percussion, and found sounds into his urban folk sound, the album sees Connolly explore new territories.
Recorded and mixed in New York, where Connolly is now based, Brother, the Fight is Fixed is regarded as his most mature and complex work to date, blending the personal with the political.
Cork-born Connolly has crafted a highly regarded niche for himself as one of the leading lights in the New York music scene, curating a variety of music nights each week in the city that never sleeps.
Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago. See also www.niallconnolly.com
