THE GALWAY Baroque Singers and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra show, which took place recently in Leisureland, can be heard again on the Lyric FM website.
The singers, under director Audrey Corbett, and the orchestra, under conductor Proinnsías Ó Duinn, performed Ravel’s ‘Le Tombeau de Couperin’, Duruflé’s Requiem Op 9, and Puccini’s Preludio Sinfonico and ‘Messa di Gloria’. Audiences were so impressed with the choir’s performance of Puccini’s ‘Gloria,’ that they spontaneously applauded the choir in the middle of the ‘Messa’, not waiting until the end of the work.
