Spain is one of the favourites for this year’s World Cup and Spanish is one of the world’s most widely spoken languages.
Galwegians with an interest in learning Spanish and who would like to sample some of that country’s marvellous and diverse culture, can look forward to the Fiesta Española event on Monday 21 in Bar8, the docks, at 8.30pm.
Organised by Atlantic Language Galway, Fiesta Española coincides with the festivities of San Juan, the shortest night of the year.
In Spain San Juan is usually marked with beach bonfires, music, and drinks. The night in Bar8 will include Sevillana dance, Spanish guitar music with local band Leon, a Spanish ‘non-bull fight’, and tapas.
