Kia cee'd makes stunning debut in satisfaction survey

The Kia cee'd achieved a stunning debut result of fourth overall in the 2010 JD Power and Associates/What Car? Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study with a score of 83.8 per cent, finishing just behind luxury vehicles from Lexus and Jaguar.

The cee'd also topped the ‘lower medium car' segment ahead of vehicles such as the BMW 1 Series and the Skoda Octavia.

Designed and manufactured in Europe, the cee'd was the first model to benefit from Kia's recent major quality offensive. The Soul urban crossover, Venga B-segment MPV and Sorento SUV, all launched since the cee'd, have also been part of this programme. Kia is confident these and future models will enhance its growing enviable reputation for quality over the coming years.

Kia demonstrated its commitment to quality by launching the cee'd in 2007 with a seven-year warranty as standard. The entire Kia range is now available with a seven-year warranty.

Commenting on the result, Steve Fowler, group editor of What Car? said: "This is a superb result for Kia. The cee'd's fourth place is seriously impressive given the strength of the opposition, while securing top spot in the lower medium car category is a clear indication of how the newer Kia products are providing just what customers want."

A Kia Motors spokesman said: "The cee'd has played a significant part of our phenomenal growth over the last few years so we're pleased to see that customers rate it so highly."
