Paddy Courtney to bring Sundays at The Comedy Club to a close

When Paddy Courtney takes to the stage of The Comedy Club at Cuba* this Sunday he will be closing a major chapter of Galway comedy and paving the way for the opening of a new one.

This show will be the final Sunday night show at the Comedy Club before it moves to its new Friday night slot beginning on Friday October 17 with a line up of Tommy Tiernan as MC and Canadian multi award winner Phil Nichol as the main guest.

Back to the final Sunday show, though. Paddy Courtney is one of the prisoners in RTÉ 2’s Prison Break, the little purple guy in the Lotto ads, the star and co-creator of TG4’s Paddywhackery, and a much sought after MC. He is also an extremely funny man.

Paddy is currently working on a new show for TG4. In it, Paddy learns to play the bodhrán, Oscar winner Jeremy Irons the fiddle, and Irish soccer international Andy Reid the banjo. Paddy’s episode will be transmitted on Wednesday November 19 at 10.30pm.

Support on the night will be from Eleanor Tiernan. Gerry Mallon is the MC and tickets are available in advance at Bar 903, The Cellar Bar, and at the door which opens at 8.30pm.
