Cregmore National School receives funding

Scoil Phadraig Naofa, Cregmore, has been approved for funding which will allow the school to construct two new resource rooms.

The funding is being provided under the Department of Education’s Temporary Accommodation Scheme 2010. Construction is expected to begin during the summer. “I want to pay tribute to the Principal and the Board of Management,” said Dep Fahey, “for their continued endeavour in securing and providing modern accommodation for the 240 pupils who now attend the school.”

The school authorities informed Dep Fahey that they hope to progress a proposal for a new school hall, additional classroom, and parking facilities in the near future. The Building Unit of the Department of Education has assured Dep Fahey that “active consideration” is being given to provide funding for this
