June writers’ gathering at Sheridan’s Wine Bar

SHERIDAN’S WINE Bar will host an Over The Edge reading by the poets Denise Blake and Quincy Lehr and fiction writers, Aidan Hynes and Ger Burke on Friday June 18 at 8pm.

Quincy Lehr’s first collection of poems, Across The Grid of Streets, was described by The Irish Times as showing “much energy and narrative talent.” Lehr’s poetry and criticism have appeared in numerous journals in the US, Britain, Ireland, Australia, and the Czech Republic. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Denise Blake was born in Ohio in 1958. Her family returned to Ireland in 1969 where she grew up in Co Donegal. Her second collection of poems, How To Spin Without Getting Dizzy has just been published by Summer Palace Press. She is a regular contributor to Sunday Miscellany on RTÉ Radio One.

Mayo’s Aidan Hynes is a teacher and writer based in Dublin. He was a founder member of the American New Irish Artists and Emigrants Network. He has published short fiction in The Irish Times and The Irish Echo (New York ).

Ger Burke has lived in Co Galway, London, and Boston, and now lives in Co Mayo. She is the author of the recently published novel My Father’s Lands and a member of the editorial board of Crannóg magazine.
