Business as usual at Lisloughrey Lodge

All 60 employees at Lisloughrey Lodge in Cong are to be kept on after management at the hotel this week succeeded in securing a new lease for the premises.

Marc MacCloskey and Hilde Stuiver who have been managing the hotel since 2007 have invested huge effort into putting the beautiful lakeside property on the map as one of Ireland’s most chic country retreats. Previously the hotel had been entered into receivership after Ulster Bank which was owed €2 million took possession but under this new arrangement the dynamic duo plan to operate, manage and trade as Lisloughrey Lodge ensuring the hotel honours all agreements including weddings and conferences already booked.

“This is an exciting and important milestone in the history of the Lodge and we are thrilled at the prospects of running the hotel we are so passionate about. We have exciting plans for Lisloughrey and some fantastic upcoming initiatives for our regular visitors”, said Marc McCloskey.

As well as being a popular wedding, fishing, pampering and fine dining destination, Lisloughrey Lodge boasts a host of awards including two AA Rosettes 2009, winner of Best Restaurant in Connaught Award 2009 and Conde Nast Traveler Hotlist, all testament to the team’s talent and dedication to developing the hotel’s full potential.

Lisloughrey Lodge previously belonged to investors Niall McFadden and Paddy Kelly. It is a 22-bed establishment with spa overlooking Lough Corrib and adjoins the Ashford Castle estate.
