Galway girls contest All Ireland final

Galway Ladies contest the All Ireland u-14 A final against Dublin on Saturday in St Brigid’s GAA Club, Kiltoom, Co Roscommon (3.45pm ).

The Galway ladies, managed by Johnny Carter, have been preparing for this day since November last year and now boasts a strong panel of players.

They have played some good football during this year’s campaign, finishing second behind Saturday’s opponents Dublin on points difference.

While the Dubliners had a facile 6 - 12 to 0 - 2 victory over Monaghan in the semi-final, Galway had a closely fought encounter with Cork, eventually winning by 2 - 8 to 1 -9.

On that occasion solid defending and a good supply of ball to the forwards proved crucial, and they showed great character under severe pressure against Cork.

Galway will hope that experience will benefit them in their All Ireland clash with the Dublin girls.

The Galway Ladies Football Board is urging Galway supporters travel to Co Roscommon as Galway battle for the All Ireland title.
