Model and Xposé TV presenter Glenda Gilson is eyeing up budding models around Galway, as she launches Specsavers’ nationwide search for the Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2010. The brunette bombshell is helping Specsavers search to find ordinary Irish people who look extraordinary in their glasses, as a necessity or even simply for fashion purposes. Every year, Specsavers scours Ireland and countries across Europe to find the guys and girls next door who look amazing in their specs. The competition is open to men and women aged 16 and over, who are either current specs wearers or wear glasses for fashion purposes. Noel Meehan, store director for Specsavers in Galway says: ‘We see so many people in the store who look absolutely amazing in their glasses. The Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to shout about the talent right on our doorstep who wear their specs loud and proud – and who are great role models for younger specs wearers to aspire to.’Entries can be made by visiting Specsavers, Eyre Square Centre, Galway or by logging on to www.specsavers.ie Or check out the special Facebook site www.facebook.com/SpectacleWearerOfTheYear The closing date for entries is Saturday 31 July 2010.
