Printmaking Graduate Exhibition to be held this week

This year’s Printmaking Graduate Exhibition will be held in the Quadrangle Building Art Gallery, NUIG. The official opening is on May 28 at 8pm, doors will be open from 6pm. Siobhan Piercy artist and head of the printmaking department in the Cluain Mhuire campus of GMIT will be officially opening this year’s exhibition.

There will be a showing of works by the 15 students in the graduation class, working in all forms of printmaking from the traditional etching and screen printing to newer techniques such as digital prints.

The show had been completely funded by the students, and extra help was supplied by the printmaking department to which the students would like to extend a massive thank you.

The students would also like to thank Mr Declan Holloway, year head of the graduate class, for his continued support and help not only with the exhibition but throughout the year.

There is also much gratitude to the staff of the Quadrangle Building Art Gallery, NUIG, for supplying space to exhibit the work. The graduation class of 2010 are: Naoimh Stephens, Linda McConville, Áine Hayes, Claudia Keegan, Iain McEillin, Niamh Ní Rúiséil, Norah Brennan, Sarah Maxwell, Thelma Kelly, Margo Riordan, Martina Kilbane, Padraig Conway, Dawn O’ Loughlin, Pia Cloherty, Luisa Pifarotti.

The show will run daily from Saturday May 29 until Friday June 4 from 11am till 4pm.
