West of Ireland planning firms merge

Galway based AP McCarthy Planning Consultants Ltd and Environmental Consultants Keville & O’ Sullivan Associates Ltd. announced their merger today. The new company, McCarthy Keville O’Sullivan Limited will commence trading immediately and will provide existing and new clients with a more comprehensive range of environmental and planning services.

“This merger brings a range of benefits to our customers, employees, and stakeholders” said Gus McCarthy. “The planning and environmental elements of building projects are very closely linked and we believe that the merger will enable us to respond better to our clients’ needs. The response from our clients to news of the merger and expansion of services has been overwhelmingly positive.”

“Our two companies have worked together on a number of high profile buildings in Galway such as The Galway Clinic, Crown Square, the Killannin stand at Galway Racecourse and National University of Ireland,” added Brian Keville. “We see the merger as a way of solidifying a relationship that works really well, and we remain committed to guaranteeing our clients the levels of quality and professionalism that have brought both companies to where we are today.”

Corina O’Sullivan said that staff in both companies were delighted with the news and they look forward to working on an expanded project and client portfolio over the coming years. “In the short-term we will operate from the two existing office sites until January 2009 when McCarthy Keville O’Sullivan Limited will open its new headquarters in Galway city.”

Both companies have a strong track record of success since they were established in Galway in 2000. They have a combined workforce of 24 people and joint customer base of more than 500 public and private clients.
