Fashion show in aid of international relief

A charity fashion show in aid of Samaritans Purse will be hosted next Wednesday (May 26 ) at Coyotes on Forster Street.

Samaritans Purse is an international relief and development agency which helps and assists victims of war, poverty, famine, disease, and natural disasters.

One of the organisation’s best known projects is the ‘Operation Christmas Child’ which every Christmas results in shoeboxes full of toys and various presents being sent to less fortunate children around the world.

The fashion show is being organised by enterprising Galway student Catherine Gannon, who will travel to Kenya with the organisation this July to work with the underprivileged in a small village near Mombasa.

Shops taking part are Vera Moda, Swamp, AWear and New Look. Many Galway locals have offered to volunteer as models and there have been numerous offers of support from hairdressers and make up artists. There will be an abundance of style and sophistication on show. Doors open at 8pm and admission is €5. All proceeds go to a worthy cause.
