Visit spectacular Bushypark garden and help Mental Health Association

A prize winning Bushpark garden will be opened to the public on three days this month as part of a fundraiser for the Galway Mental Health Association.

Lorna MacMahon’s garden at Ardcarraig, Oranswell, will be open on Sundays May 16, 23, and 30 from 2pm to 6pm.

The four acre garden, which has often been televised and has raised much needed funds for the association for the past 25 years - has been created out of a hazel woodland and adjoining bogland, making good use of its natural assets, a stream and large granite boulders.

There is also a herb garden and a dwarf conifer section. In addition to shrubs and plants from five continents, the garden has an extensive range of candelabra primulas and blue poppies from the Himalayas as well as a large collection of hostas.

There will be a major plant sale on the open days specialising in rare and unusual plants.
