Spring is in the air and while the sun is playing hide and seek many of us are busy preening ourselves for the big upcoming summer unveiling and where better to complete this process than at the Laserderm Clinic.
For more than a year I’ve been going to see Lisa Callaghan at the Laserderm Clinic in Claregalway and have undergone a number of different treatments during that time starting with the laser hair removal. This is a treatment I’d seriously recommend anyone to do, men and women, as it really does pay off in the long term. Just think six to seven treatments of laser and you’ll never ever have to suffer the pain of waxing again or use razors again. There are many areas that can be zapped including bikini line, underarm, lower legs, and upper lip, and there are also combination packages.
Men can also get rid of that gorilla look with hair removal treatments available for the male neckline, back, shoulder, and chest. It is recommened for men to give Lisa a ring in complete confidence for a free consultation and pricing.
The treatment is done by Ellipse Intense Pulsed Light System. A hand-held laser crystal gun thingy is applied to your armpits and zap zap, there’s a slight tingle, but no pain. The stinging sensation does get more intense in certain areas where the hair is denser but it’s a bit like a hot rubber band being snapped against the skin. It was over in less than 15 minutes and the tenderness was gone about an hour later, so not bad at all. The following treatments were far easier and began to spread out more and more as the hairs got weaker. As I’m fair haired it only took me six sessions to achieve the desired result, for others, especially if you have dark hair, it may take a few more sessions. I loved the underarm treatment so much that i’m now making plans to tackle the bikini.
Another very popular treatment at the Laserderm Clinic is microdermabrasion and after the long, dreary, cold winter months we’ve had this is the perfect way to rejuvenate the complexion and have silky smooth skin. Fine lines, shallow acne scars, dry or rough skin, dull skin tone, sun damage, and enlarged pores can all be reduced dramatically with the megapeel oxygen-microdermabrasion and LED light therapy treatments.
Microdermabrasion is like the ultimate exfoliation. The pen like tool is applied to the facial skin and gives a strange, but not unpleasant, sensation. There’s a slight suction and the crystals get rid of dead skin cells. The level of treatment is adjusted to suit different skin types and complaints. The treatment also involves an algae face mask and a complimentary oxygen treatment. Currently there is a limited offer of a free course of LED light therapy treatment with every microdermabrasion course purchased.
Among the top 10 things to do this year when it comes to treating yourself and looking after your skin is to take a trip to the Laserderm Clinic at Unit 15, Cois Chlair Shopping Centre, Claregalway. For more information call 091 739344 or log onto www.laserderm.ie
