With the summer season upon us again, and a host of memorable festivals and events to look forward to, a new service has been launched on Shop Street to allow budding photographers and their families to print their favourite photos.
Galway Fuji Centre has just opened its doors, offering a wide array of options to print and share those memorable and endearing photographic moments.
Owner Niall Considine says that people are now dilligently compiling their photographic collections in a more organised and creative fashion. “We have found that people have gone full circle, where just storing thousands of images on a PC is not the only way to go. Customers want to share these photos, either by printing them or by creating photobooks where a printed book of communion day photos, for example, is a great record of the day”.
Mr Considine says that Photo Gifts (such as mugs, jigsaws, keyrings etc ) are a great solution to the age old problem of not knowing what to buy for that someone special. He says he believes that “a personalised gift (such as a photo of a grandchild on a mug ) is valued more than just buying a more expensive item off the shelf”.
Mr Considine previously opened a Fuji Centre in Ennis three years ago. He and his team bring the experience from that venture to Galway, and many of the staff (including Niall ) work across both stores.
“Our aim is that we are a one-stop-shop for everything photographic – from buying cameras, printing photos and also putting them on canvas” says Jane Riordan, the store manager.
