GTI art students achieve high scores

TEN GTI art portfolio preparation students have been accepted to the National College of Art and Design, with two of the students - Emma Finn and Sylwia Starkowska - scoring 950 and 915 respectively out of a possible 1000.

Every year GTI art portfolio preparation students have their portfolios assessed by the NCAD, Limerick School of Art and Design, GMIT School of Art, IADT Dun Laoghaire, and colleges in Britain.

The art portfolio preparation course leads to a Level 5 FETAC Certificate. This course has recently been complemented by a FETAC Level 6 course in drawing and visual inquiry and students have the option to stay at GTI for a second year. Subject to availability of places, course students may be accepted into second year of a third level BA programmes in Ireland or Britain.

The end of year exhibition of all student art work will be open to the public at 7pm on Thursday May 20 and all are welcome.
