Maree Oranmore Juvenile Soccer Club is hosting a free community family fun day at the astro turf in Oranmore on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm.
The celebrations mark the club’s fifth birthday with mini games for the younger age groups, bouncy castles, face painting, BBQ for the children, and stalls for young and old.
End of year awards for each age group will be presented with special guests from Galway United FC.
The club is running a competition in the local national schools, ‘Design a 5th birthday card for the club’ with all the cards being displayed and winners being announced at the family fun day.
Maree Oranmore Juvenile soccer club has grown considerably in its first five years with more than 400 children now involved in teams from u-5 to u-15 boys, with girls’ teams at u-6, u-8, and u-12.
This season the club won its first major piece of silverware when the u-14s claimed the division one cup.
