Learn how to help students cope with exams

Parents can learn how to help their children in the run up to the Junior and Leaving Certificate exams by attending a special lecture on the subject to be held next month.

Professor Fiona McNicholas, a Dublin based consultant and adolescent psychiatrist, will speak at the event, which is being organised by Atlantic College, a continuing education facility based at the Fairgreen. The talk will be held on Tuesday May 11 at the college (top floor, Fairgreen House ) at 7pm.

Professor McNicholas is a consultant in child psychiatry and works at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, the Lucena Clinic, Rathgar and has an academic chair at University College Dublin.

She previously worked at Columbia University in New York, Stanford University, California and as a consultant neuro sychiatrist at Guys’ Hospital in London. Her research interests include ADHD, eating disorders and psychopharmacology

She delivered a similar talk to parents in the Dublin area on a number of occasions and always had capacity crowds.
