At Monday’s Galway City Council meeting, councillors will have to vote on whether or not to allow City Hall give land it owns over to both the ESB and the Department of Education.
The meeting will take place on Monday at 4pm in City Hall, College Road. Councillors will be asked to approve or reject a proposal for the council to give over land it owns at Knocknacarra to the Department of Education in exchange for other lands in the area.
They will also be asked to vote on a proposal for the council to give land it owns at Gharraí Dhónaill, Kimeenmore, and Melody Court, Renmore, to the ESB. Councillors will also have to decide if a public right of way over the open space situated between Monalee Heights and Monalee Manor, Knocknacarra, should be closed off.
Councillors will hear a presentation on the Western River Basin District Management Plan 2009 - 2015, and a number of reports will also be considered at the meeting; Annual Financial Statement; Smarter Travel Bid, public transport marketing strategy; the provision of public toilets; Road Work Programme 2010; Bus Priority Measure – Bothar Uí Éithir; and service reports on housing, transport and infrastructure, environment, arts and culture, and finance.
