Do you want to know exactly how food affects your wellbeing? This and many other questions around the area of food, diet, and nutrition will be addressed as part of a new FETAC certificate in nutrition course currently being offered by Atlantic College.
The course, which will run for 10 weeks, is designed for those already working or interested in mainstream and complementary healthcare, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, dentists, childcare workers, acupuncturists, shiatsu therapists, and others. It is also of interest to those working as healthcare practitioners and those planning to pursue a career in any of the complementary therapies. The course director is Carina Harkin, BHScNat BHScHom BHScAcu, a practitioner and complementary medicine lecturer of 10 years and a director of Cara Health. Ms Harkin is also a mother of six children and will bring her practical day-to-day experience of children’s nutrition to the course, making it of particular interest to parents and carers.
This course, which is a new addition to Atlantic College’s suite of courses, is part of a wide range of programmes being delivered by the college in the area of social studies and childcare. Other courses include care of the older person, childcare Levels 5 and 6, certificate in child psychology, and certificate in challenging behaviour. These courses are all FETAC-accredited and are delivered in partnership with Dorset College Dublin.
