Comedy rap with the Rubberbandits

IMAGINE AN edition of Prime Time where the topics were Limerick gangs, sniffing glue as an aphrodisiac, and encounters with ‘larger ladies’ and horses, well, that’s a Rubberbandits show.

Rubberbandits, the deviant Limerick duo who combine rap music with satire and comedy, headline The Laughter Lounge in the Róisín Dubh on Wednesday at 8.30pm.

The duo have come to prominence through their Myspace page through such tracks as ‘Bag of Glue’, ‘Too Many Gee’, and the hilarious ‘Up Da Ra’, which could enrage both a Republican and an Orangeman.

A slot at Electric Picnic together with sold out dates all over the country including the Bulmers Comedy Festival, plus regular slots on Today FM, have given them ego, but just the right amount. Type ‘Willie O’Dea into Youtube to see their latest missive from the mean streets.

Support is from Paddy Courtney, Gerry McBride, David O’Gorman. Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.
