Kinvara National School is set to expand following the approval of funding for a new classroom at the school.
Dep Noel Treacy, who welcomed the announcement this week, said the new classroom has been approved, while provisional approval has also been given for a second new classroom at the school.
“Kinvara has grown considerably over the last number of years and as a result, enrolment at the local national school has been on the increase, as Kinvara is also a developing area,” Dep Treacy said. “The school requires additional accommodation for its students and I have been working to secure the necessary funds for some time now. I have met with the former education minister Batt O’Keeffe TD and more recently, with the new Minister Mary Coughlan TD.
“I am delighted to confirm that funding has now been approved for a new 80sq m classroom and other works. Provisional approval has been given for a classroom of equal size also.
“The Department’s building unit will be in contact with the school authorities shortly to authorise the school board to proceed with planning.”
