Amazing new spring/ summer collection at Kilkenny shops nationwide

Spring/summer 2010 has officially arrived at the Kilkenny shop in Galway.

Taking inspiration from the catwalk shows of some major fashion houses including Calvin Klein, Hermes, Marc Jacob, Chanel, and Versace, Kilkenny is offering a representation of the key looks for SS10 that won’t break the bank. Quality is crucial and still remains the key ingredient when fashion buyer Niamh Russell begins the purchasing process each season. “I am so pleased with our new collection,” she said. “It is fresh, bang on trend, and offers shoppers a taste of the catwalk without the astronomical price tag.

“We are also keen to continue to support Brand Ireland and are thrilled to introduce Aideen Bodkin to the Galway store.”

Keen to offer a choice to its loyal customers, Kilkenny has continued to research new and interesting European and international labels and has introduced the diffusion range from the Parisian label Paul & Joe Sister, Swedish label Valerie, and LA label Supertrash to the Galway store.

Founder and designer Sophie Albou launched the Parisian label in 1995 and developed Paul & Joe Sister in 2005 as a diffusion line that meshes intricate graphic prints with precious couture finishes.

Supertrash is a label from LA for independent women with a great sense for fashion and style. SuperTrash is a combination of outspoken personality and effortless style, never too polished and always arranged into a blend of surprise.

The trends coming from the catwalk this season are reflected in the collections. Kilkenny fashion stories for spring/summer include:

Neutrals/minimalism — crisp white shirting, nude and tan colours, and head to toe white chic, a classic look that can be seen in the Ronen Chen and Eva Kayan collections. Prices range from €59.95 for Eva Kayan to €29.95 for Ronen Chen.

Sportswear — body con hi tech fabrics, active sportswear influences evident in the Eva Kayan neo tech tunic, and zip front layered pieces with printed leggings in black and white. Prices from €59.95.

Safari/military — safari from Stills in safari silk tunics and tan linen trousers. Ethnic prints from Eva Kayan in limes and khakis.

Fairytale/romantic — ultra feminine dresses in subtle colours with pretty sequin embellishments seen in the bold fuchsia and lime crushed silk dresses from Valerie. For a more grown up version Quin and Donnelly’s digital print dress is a must for any fashionista this season. Paul and Joe Sister chiffon tunic and silk embellished dresses in blues and reds are ideal for a summer social event. Price ranges from €74.95 to €399.95.

Paul & Joe Sister prices range from €54.95.

“As always it has taken us months of hard work to put together this inspiring representation of wearable catwalk trends that work for the Kilkenny woman,” said company CEO Marian O’Gorman. “Smart, savvy, and sophisticated, our customers look for quality, affordability, and choice and we are confident that out spring/summer collections won’t disappoint.”

Accessories are a crucial element to the spring/summer wardrobe and as always Kilkenny has a great selection available throughout its stores. Orla Kiely, Guess, and Mischa Barton are all very strong this season with high fashion designs in animal prints, studded bobos, and chainmail clutches. Kilkenny has also introduced its new Fossil handbag range offering unbeatable prices from €34.95. Nothing beats the popular Nica range for its bright colours at affordable prices.
