Coláiste Éinde celebrate double success

City school Coláiste Éinde enjoyed double success at the All Ireland Basketball League finals, claiming both the u-16C (pictured above ) and u-19C boys’ titles.

The u-16s enjoyed a comfortable win over Tallaght CS by 53 - 28 with Tomas Mitkus deservedly claiming the MVP award after contributing 28 points and 12 rebounds of his school’s overall tally.

The Galway schools overcame a poor start to take the lead at half time

Other scorers were Toms Fabriciuss, Sean Hughes, Finn Stoneman, Emil Hernon, while Killian Mullarkey was a terrier in defence.

The double was secured when the u-19 side also romped to a 58 - 26 win over CBS Ennistymon.

Toms Fabriciuss was the game’s MVP player scoring 14 points, alongside Mitkus, Sean Hodgson, Findara McAvinchey, and Kennedy Ighor.

A blistering start saw Endas take a 16 - 7 lead and by half time it had stretched to 30 - 16. Within four minutes of the third quarter the hard-working Galway school had put the game out of Ennistymon’s reach, ensuring Endas completed a memorable double.
