The stylish new BMW 5 Series is now on sale with an entry level price of €41,750.
It features EfficientDynamics technology throughout the range which ensures CO2 emissions are minimised and as a result the VRT is kept to a minimum.
The price of the new BMW 5 Series is close to the outgoing model and includes significant additional specification. Leather upholstery, Bluetooth preparation, USB interface, and automatic air-conditioning are standard in all models.
The entry level model quoted above is the new 520d priced at €41,750. The automatic version of the new 5 Series is €43,964. Next in the range is the 525d at €52,370 (automatic €54,793 ), while the 530d starts at €59,130 (automatic €61,553 ).
The BMW 523i heads up the petrol range starting at €51,750 and top of the range is the 550i (automatic only ) at €93,560.
All models are available now, except the 520d which joins the line-up in late June.
New BMW 5 Series touring
Following the newly-arrived 5 Series saloon will be the perfect touring (estate ) version. BMW says it is the symbiosis of driving pleasure, efficiency, versatility and sporting elegance.
The fourth generation touring convinces through powerful design aesthetics, modern premium-level functionality and brand-typical driving dynamics combined with exemplary efficiency. Extensive comfort and safety features, which include numerous BMW exclusive driver assistance systems, substantiate the outstanding qualities of the new BMW 5 Series touring as an upper midrange touring car.
Thanks to a multi-functional interior and intelligent detail solutions, the new BMW 5 Series touring is fully equipped to meet the most diverse demands. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 560 litres. If desired, an increase in capacity to a maximum of 1,670 litres is guaranteed by 40:20:40 split folding rear seats, which are unique in this segment. The backrest angle is variable by up to 11 degrees. The backrest can be folded down using two control levers inside the luggage compartment, the loading space cover of which is automatically lowered when the tailgate is closed. The separately opening rear window automatically swings upwards at the push of a button.
The new BMW 5 Series touring will launch on September 18 2010 with prices announced in due time.
