Zhivago launches new electrical department

Zhivago, one of the most established home grown businesses in the west of Ireland, has recently launched its new in-store electrical department.

Renowned for entertainment, Zhivago has seen this extension of its business as the most natural form of organic growth. To complement the vast selection of music, DVDs and other entertainment gift items, Zhivago has opened an extensive electrical department covering iPods, laptops, DVD players and televisions.

Offering a range of top brands from Toshiba, Fujitsu, and Siemens to name but a few, Zhivago want to offer only the most reliable and renowned brands.

Recent BT Ireland research has noted that 70 per cent of Irish consumers are looking very closely at their spending, and that staying in is indeed the new going out! Commenting on this research Joe Carroll, managing director of Zhivago states that customers want quality brands at affordable prices, but when dealing with a time poor society, convenience is key!

Zhivago was founded in Galway nearly 40 years ago and was purchased nearly 30 years ago by Joe Carroll who has run the business ever since. The company has been the major business selling music in Galway and the west of Ireland since its inception.

The company currently operate from three key locations in Galway — Shop Street, the Eyre Square Shopping Centre, and the Galway Shopping Centre on the Headford Road. With the biggest ground floor music department in Ireland, Zhivago is synonymous for good entertainment and has evolved over the last few years diversifying into toys, home wares, Irish tourist paraphernalia, and electronic equipment.
