Galway-based film and television writer and editor Kevin Lavelle has scripted a new drama, An Líne, which will be broadcast on TG4 on Monday at 10pm.
The 25 minute programme is set in an alternative modern-day Ireland in which society has broken down. Curfews are in place and the Government fines parents for their errant children’s misdeeds. Expectant parents have to pass an interview process before they are allowed to raise a child. However there are two rebels against the system, 19-year-old Joe, an illegal fight organiser, and his pregnant girlfriend Mary.
An Líne is one of six dramas on the Síol scheme for new Irish language writing and directing. The programme will also be repeated on Saturday April 3.
