At the Irish National Photographic Awards held recently by the Irish Professional Photographers Association, former Galway Advertiser photographer, Neil Warner won nine Gold Awards. In addition to this he received the supreme award Irish Pictorial and Travel Best Image Award 2010.
Last year the Irish Professional Photographers Association honoured him by giving him the highest award it has to give and that is honorary life membership. This was awarded to honour his “services to photography in Ireland and his representation of Irish photography internationally”.
During the last year he has won a series of prestigious contracts including a contract from Radisson (Rezidor Group ) to photograph eight hotels in the UK. In addition to this, An Post chose one of his images to be used as a stamp in the celebration of their recent 25th anniversary.
Just before Christmas Mr Warner won a contract from Science Foundation Ireland to visit their top 15 researchers throughout universities in Ireland to create images of their projects for use by SFI in the promotion of Ireland as a “Technology Island”.
His international reputation has also been growing and he has lectured on marketing for photographers at the Spanish National Conference in Cullera near Valencia. He was also asked to speak at the Slovakian National Conference at Bratislava and the Finnish National Conference at Tampere near Helsinki.
Mr Warner has been elected president of the Federation of European Photographers, a body that represents 50,000 photographers throughout 20 countries in Europe.
Despite the current economic climate, he has been successful in helping his clients market their products and services internationally. Mr Warner is the only Irish photographer to have received full membership of the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
