Mervue United will view tomorrow evening’s Airtricity League first division tie with Cork City Foras Co-op as an opportunity to put some more points on the league table.
A single point separates the sides, with the Cork outfit having earned two points from their opening three outings.
Disappointed with their defeat against Wexford last week, Mervue United manager Tom Frenchremains positive heading into tomorrow’s fixture at Turner’s Cross.
"We definitely improving and looking looking forward to getting back out this Friday against Cork City Foras.
“Cork will definitely test us all over the park and we will have to be at our best to come away with something out of Turners Cross.
“We are improving as a team and working hard at training to get things right. Team spirit is high and we know we are not far away from where we want to be."
French will be without Darren Young and Kenny Farrell who are suspended, while Dave Goldbey and Cregg Tone are not available due to injuries.
Salthill Devon, yet to post a victory, were 3 - 0 losers away to Shelbourne last week. And it does not get any easier. Although at home on Saturday, they face the current league leaders Waterford United who have yet to drop a point. The two sides meet at 7pm in Drom and they will be looking for a good home crowd in the hopes of upsetting the current pace-setters.
