Ryan Hanley Consulting Engineers is to carry out a comprehensive study of the River Clare and the Lisheenavalla, Claregalway, Caherlea, and Ardskeaghmore areas following the winter floods.
The study of the River Clare will be carried out over a three month period and Ryan Hanley Consultants will be in touch with Office of Public Works officials over that time. Any remedial work which must be carried out as a result of this study will be undertaken by the OPW and all work should be completed before the end of the year.
The news has been welcomed by Independent Galway West TD Noel Grealish.
“This is very welcome news for those people whose homes were flooded last year,” he said. “I will continue to liaise closely with the OPW on this matter over the coming weeks and months.”
