In the most successful haul by any club in the province, highlights of the championship included a blistering display by James Cleary at 36kg who stopped his opponent in the first round, while Frankie Cleary defeated last year's All-Ireland champion Jamie Conroy of Mayo in a convincing points victory.

There were also title wins for Bernie McDonagh at junior, Dylan Ward at 46kg, Martin Delaney at 29kg, Oisin O’Mahoney at 46kg, Jamie Mongan at 36kg, Jonathan Ward, Conor Murphy, Tom McDonagh, John Donovan, Brian Ward, Chris Sherlock and Willie Barrett, while the vastly improved Martin McDonagh was unlucky to lose on a split decision in the youth 66kg final. Other finalists from the club included Michael Gerard Ward, Bim Cleary, Mikey Barrett, Shane Ward and Francis Barrett.

The boxers are now off to the All Ireland finals commencing this weekend which head coach John Mongan hopes will be equally as successful.

"These results have come about due to the great hard work and dedication of our boxers, and they have done the club and county proud. Hopefully we can build on these titles by adding All-Irelands as well over the next few weeks."
