“We have no excuses. We did not cut down the spaces as we would have wanted to. There are no recriminations here and perhaps we were a little leg weary. We were beaten by a better team today and sometimes you have to accept that you are beaten by a better team and I believe that we were today. The better team always wins the game and that’s how it ended today.”
“The goal took the wind out of our sails a bit. But we worked as hard as we could to come back. The lads never gave up and the lads showed great character. They are a super bunch of men. Not one of them backed an inch. You could go to war with some of those men. They have given everything they have over the past few years and, while it is disappointing, hurling is a game to be enjoyed and we will hopefully get back to enjoying our hurling again over the summer months. You have to take it on the chin and get on with things and that’s what we hope to do. We have had some great days and hopefully we will again.”
