Go BATS @ Kelly’s

BATS ARE a Dublin quartet who mix post-punk, hardcore, and metal along with, would you believe, scientific musings? Sounds good? Yes, and Galway has a chance to see them next week.

BATS will play Gigantic at Kelly’s, Bridge Street, on Saturday March 20 at 9pm. They first came to notice when they released their debut EP Cruel Sea Scientist in 2007 and since then have attracted much critical praise. Blistering.com said BATS “may only be at the beginning of their career but it sounds like it’s going to be a good ride so get on now” while Rock Sound said praised their “infectious hooks...which may result in you forgetting about fixing your fringe and actually dancing for a change.” Admission is €5.

Coming to Kelly’s

On Friday March 26 at 8.30pm, Kelly’s will host a concert by the popular Tuam singer-songwriter Noelie McDonnell and his band. Tickets are €12.50/10. Other shows to look forward to are Identity Parade on April 10 and Thee Vicars on April 15, as well as DJ sets from The Undertones/TodayFM’s Paul McLoone at Gigantic on March 27 and Krafty Kuts on April 4.
