New Irish comedy film to be released in cinemas next week

IF YOU found a man resplendent in a shiny red space suit and helmet, passed out on the living room floor beside the drinks cabinet, would you believe he was an alien from outer space?

Well the Cassidy family of Ballymoran did so when they found a man, calling himself Zonad in such a state one morning. Happily the Ballymoran community make the intriguing visitor feel very welcome, and in the case of mother Mary and teenage Jenny, very welcome indeed!

What nobody yet knows is that Zonad, is really Liam Murphy, an alcoholic chancer who has escaped from a rehabilitation clinic. However when his philandering rouses the suspicion of Jenny’s boyfriend Guy Hendrickson, things start to come to a head.

This is the new Irish comedy film Zonad, from co-directors and writers John Carney (Bachelor's Walk, Once ) and Kieran Carney (Bachelor’s Walk ), staring Simon Delaney (Bachelor’s Walk ), Donna Dent, Janice Byrne, and Rory Keenan.

The film has already been described by The Irish Times as “uproariously funny” and as “gleefully unhinged” by Variety. It will be released in Irish cinemas on St Patrick’s Day.
