THE CRANE Bar on Sea Road has a feast of great gigs coming up over the next week with performances from Niall Connolly, Danny Meehan, John Carty, and Declan Sinnott.
Cork singer-songwriter Niall Connolly returns to The Crane tomorrow at 9.30pm. His most recent album Be There If I Have To Swim was recorded in The Crane and features live versions of seven songs from Niall’s three studio albums and six previously unreleased songs. Admission is €10.
Danny Meehan, one of the best exponents of Donegal fiddle playing, is in concert on Saturday at 6.30pm. Admission is free. On Sunday at 6.30pm, John Carty, TG4 Traditional Musician of the Year 2003, will be playing, joined by Brian Rooney and Brian McGrath. Admission is €15/12.50.
Declan Sinnott, best known as the guitarist at Christy Moore’s side, plays The Crane on Wednesday March 10 at 9pm, with his band Small Town Talk.
Declan was an original member of Horslips, founding the band with Eamon Carr, but left before the band recorded their debut album in 1972. In the 1980s he was a member of Moving Hearts, before becoming a producer for Mary Black and Frances Black. His most recent work has been as lead guitarist for Christy Moore. Admission is €15/12.50.
