New engines add appeal to Skoda Octavia

The Skoda Octavia family hatchback and estate range is now even more attractive thanks to the addition of two new engines.

A new, downsized 1.2 TSI 105bhp petrol engine is now offered, in addition to the very latest 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp diesel engine with the option of a DSG dual-clutch transmission.

The state-of-the-art 1.2 TSI 105bhp is now available. This engine first saw service in the recently introduced Yeti crossover in which it instantly impressed with its punchy performance and frugality thanks to its combination of a small-capacity petrol engine with turbocharging and direct injection technology.

It is a similar story in the Octavia in which the 1.2 TSI hatch combines low CO2 emissions of 134g/km with a 0-62mph time of just 10.8 seconds - exceptional for its capacity of 1,197cc. Reported fuel economy is similarly impressive, with a combined figure of 49.6mpg. This new engine is available with both six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG transmissions.

The recently introduced, latest-generation 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp diesel is now also available with the option of the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox, combining smooth, effortless performance with CO2 emissions of just 123g/km.

These new additions to the Octavia range continue to improve an already multi-award-winning formula of practicality, comfort, value for money and low running costs.
