THE BUENA Vista Social Club will be screened in the Eye Cinema on Monday at 7pm for the Access Music Project’s fund-raising Night at the Movies event.
The Buena Vista Social Club charts a group of legendary Cuban musicians, whose talents had been virtually forgotten by a world happy to impose punishing sanctions on Castro’s Cuba.
However thanks to musician Ry Cooder and film maker Wim Wenders, their music reached new audiences and achieved world-wide popularity when this film was originally released in 1999.
The screening will be followed by a glass of wine and live music from The Gringo Stars. Tickets at €15 are available from Access Music Project 091 - 533861 or from Maureen at 087 - 230 8860.
