NUI GALWAY’S first theatre festival runs from March 1 to 5 and will be an ambitious affair with 21 10 minute ‘theatrebites’, 11 one act plays, six radio plays, six theatre productions, two forum theatre pieces, a cardboard war, and a parade!
Among many of the highlights of the festival there will be an intersociety production of the John Hughes 1980s classic The Breakfast Club.
The show runs from Monday March 1 to Wednesday 3 with the 5pm and 9pm shows having completely different casts, which has been an interesting challenge for director Podge Daly.
“The festival is a fitting tribute to the university’ outstanding dramatic linage and its continued fostering of the dramatic arts,” said societies officer and festival director Riona Hughes.
The festival is open to both students and the public.
