Woman wages holy war on gardai

A woman who started a holy war with gardai by throwing pictures at them including that of the Sacred Heart was granted bail at Galway District Court this week.

Ellen Moran (69 ) with an address at 152 An Sean Bhaile, Doughiska, was brought before Judge Mary Fahy last Monday charged with being intoxicated in a public place, threatening and abusive behaviour, and with the criminal damage of a Sacred Heart picture, on September 29, 2008, at the above address.

Garda Keane told the court that Moran had been arrested last Monday at 12.40am at Sean Bhaile.

Inspector Sean Glynn then said that there was no objection to bail and that the damage was to her own property. He explained that when gardai arrived at the house, she was found to be knocking over and taking down pictures off the walls. She then proceeded to throw the pictures at gardai. She was arrested for her own safety and for the safety of children at the house.

Judge Fahy then remanded Moran on her own bail of €200 to appear again at Galway District Court on December 12 and ordered to be of good behaviour in the meantime
