E Brún celebrates two successful years in business

Celebrating its second birthday, and two years of successful trading is bar E Brun on Dominick Street.

Opened two years ago by owner Tom McDonagh, the bar has grown from strength to strength due to its owner’s passion for reinvigorating the traditional pub scene, its loyal customers, and its dedicated staff.

McDonagh opened the pub in what was a former post office, after spending 25 years in the trade in London.

“The idea was to create a traditional pub, super pubs were taking over, they lost the traditional feel, and were more like retail outlets”, said McDonagh.

He wanted to open a pub that represented traditional values, “a talking pub” as he put it.

“The old pubs are dying, and its a shame as we’re killing what we’re famous for”, he said.

E Brun might be a new bar but it exudes all that a traditional bar stands for; oak floors, and a traditional Irish pub interior make a visit to E Brun a step back in time.

“Business has been steady”, says McDonagh, “We have accumulated a nice bunch of regulars since we opened, and it’s become a real locals pub”.

Dominick Street has been revamped greatly over the years, and McDonagh says he is delighted his buisness is a part of this: “Before the pub opened the building was derelict for years, now it’s helping to revive the place. The businesses on the street also work really well together”.

Racing, rugby, and sports events are shown on big screens, while soup and toasted sandwiches are served throughout the day.

Tom McDonagh would like to thank E Brun’s loyal customers and dedicated staff for making the pub such a success.

Birthday celebrations will be held tomorrow night, and all are welcome.
