THE FRENCH poet Colette Wittorski will be reading in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, Middle Street, on Thursday February 18 at 6pm.
On the day Ms Wittorski will read from Northern Lights, a dual-language collection of her work, published by Lapwing Poetry, and translated by the Galway based critic, poet, and author by Fred Johnston.
Colette Wittorski was born in Le Havre before World War II. Her family fled to the countryside during the Nazi Occupation and afterwards she worked for some years in Paris. Her partner is the sculptor and painter, Olivier Danican, himself once a member of the Résistance, and they live in Brittany where she continues to write and publish widely.
