A post mortem examination is due to be carried out this afternoon (Monday ) on the body of a man found in the city yesterday.
The grim discovery was made by a walker at 12 noon, close to the The Elms on College Road.
Gardaí at Mill St say they are not treating the man's death as suspicious.
However, they are trying to identify the man, who is described as almost six feet in height, of medium build with tight black hair. He is believed to be in his late twenties.
The man was wearing a dark Le Coq Sportif jacket, blue check shirt and dark jeans.
