Knock counselling service to commence next week

Knock Counselling Service is running a series of drug and alcohol awareness programmes this month in response to growing community concern in relation to substance use.

The first programme is for parents and will take place on Tuesday February 9 from 7pm to 9pm - it will run over four consecutive Tuesday evenings. Knock Counselling Service will also offer the course to young people later in the year.

The programme will be facilitated by ex-drugs task force co-ordinator and psychotherapist Peter Devers. It will address issues such as exploring attitudes to substance use, developing communication skills with young people, understanding how drugs affect the brain, and enhancing knowledge of substance use.

Places are limited, therefore booking is essential. For further information contact Alison at (094 ) 9375032 or log on to www.knock-shrine.ie
