The St Patrick’s Day celebrations will start early in 2010 as the organisers have created a programme of events in the run up to the big day.
For those wishing to take part in this year’s parade on March 17, registration is now open.
Some 70,000 people will line the streets to see the 107th Galway St Patrick’s Day Parade which features both local and international groups. There will be a themed section and this year’s theme is ‘Over the Moon’. The organisers are encouraging people to harness the carnival spirit and get creative with their entries.
As has been the case in previous years, no trucks or heavy vehicles will be permitted, with the exception of vintage cars.
