A Galway-based medical company has set up a new business which will eventually see all needles eliminated from the injecting of drugs.
Galway-based medical device firm Crospon has launched Janisys, which is developing a new medical patch which uses ink-jet printing technology to release drugs into the skin.
Working prototypes of the patch will soon be released and if successful, the patch could eliminate the use of needles in the future. It intends to begin pre-clinical trials later this year.
