THE OVER The Edge readings will celebrate its seventh birthday on Thursday January 21 with a reading by the poet David Wheatley in the Galway City Library.
David Wheatley was born in Dublin in 1970 and now lives in Hull. He is the author of three collections - Thirst (1997 ), Misery Hill (2000 ), and Mocker (2006 ) - all published by Gallery Press. He has edited the poems of James Clarence Mangan for Gallery and of Samuel Beckett for Faber and Faber. He edited Metre magazine for many years with Justin Quinn.
Also reading are poet Lisa Allen and freelance video game artist and writer Paul Conway.
The reading, sponsored by Poetry Ireland, starts at 6.30pm. There will be an open-mic after the featured readers have finished. New readers are always welcome. The MC will be Susan Millar DuMars. For more information contact 087 - 6431748.
