A special fitness workshop for sports coaches of all disciplines will be held next month at the Galway Sportsground.
The workshop is aimed at coaches working at all levels and for all sports, focusing on improving function, speed, strength and power in young players.
Hosted by Setanta College in conjunction with the IRFU, the course will be conducted by the IRFU’s fitness education manager Des Ryan and Connacht Academy fitness coach Anthone Mobian.
Des Ryan is well known in Connacht sporting circles having been involved with Connacht rugby, the Roscommon and Galway senior football teams, and the Galway u-21 footballers.
The workshop will be both theory and practical based using some of the young players from Connacht Rugby.
According to Ryan the workshop will benefit coaches who would like to know what is the most appropriate and practical method to develop young players, while also introducing something new and challenging to their training.
The event will be held in the Connacht Rugby gym and costs €30. Coaches must register with Niamh Nash ( [email protected] or 01 6473835 ) before February 1.
