The Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Club held an end of year grading recently with several junior and senior members moving up the ladder of excellence under Black Belt Pete Foley.
Among those celebrating success was 13-years-old James Ward who recieved his 1st Dan Black Belt.
The club has aquired a new 5,200sq ft gym in the Riverside Commercial Park on the Tuam Road which opened this week for business.
Foley says the new gym will be the biggest martial arts centre in Ireland, boasting two boxing rings, a grappling area, fully matted 200 square metres warm up area, spacious changing rooms and office area.
