THE POETS Kevin Higgins and Susan Millar DuMars will host creative writing classes in poetry, fiction, and memoir writing in the GTI and GMIT in the New Year.
Creative writing for beginners with Kevin Higgins starts on Monday January 18 and runs each Monday for eight weeks from 7pm to 9.30pm. Kevin will provide writing exercises, and give gentle critical feedback to those interested in trying their hand at writing poems, stories, or memoir. Places cost €120 and advance booking is essential.
Susan Millar DuMars’ intermediate creative writing begins on Tuesday January 19 and takes place every Tuesday for eight weeks from 7pm to 9.30pm
This class is suitable for those who’ve participated in creative writing classes before or begun to have work published in magazines. There will be flexible exercises and work-shopping of assignments, together with the study of works by published writers. Places cost €120 and advance booking is essential.

Susan will also give the creative writing for beginners class in the GMIT. It begins on Wednesday February 10 and takes place each Wednesday for eight weeks from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Susan will give support, instruction and feedback to students who are interested in writing either fiction (short stories, novels ) or poetry.
